Week of October 29th – November 2nd, 2012
Dear Parents,
Parent-Teacher conference forms are coming home today. Kindergarten’s conferences will be different this year. We only have 2 days to have our conferences, and we must give all parents a time to meet. So you will find a conference sheet with your assigned day and time. We had to cut our conferences to 10 minutes each, in order to get to meet with each and every parent we have. Please fill out the attached form and send back the next school day stating if you can or cannot meet at this time. Unfortunately, these are the only times we will be able to meet this first round, so we hope you can make it.
This week we are working on the Reading Street, Unit 2, week 2 “ Nature Spy”, We are reviewing two new sight words, “have”, and “is”. Please continue to review the sight words,”to” “a” “the” “little”, “I”, and “am”. Please also work with your child on recognizing these words and the letters, sounds of the alphabet.
Go Math!

Halloween Treats for Treat Bags. : Reminder, we will NOT have a Halloween party, however, we will be sending home Halloween treat bags for our children. If you are planning on sending in treats for your class treat bags, please remember we have Peanut Allergies in the Kindergarten Classrooms. Please do NOT send in anything with peanuts or peanut oils. If you prefer you can send in pencils, stickers, and other small non-food items instead of candy. Thank you.
SAVE THE DATES!! Thanks to our wonderful PTO, every child in Kindergarten received a FREE t-shirt saying “Class of 2025” at the Kindergarten Registration at the end of last year. Parents of children who did attend filled out their child’s name on a white index card and handed it to the PTO parent to get their shirt. We had lots of children not attend the roundup, so we went through all the cards and found out who in each class had received shirts. If you did not get your free shirt in the Spring of last year, we are sending them home this week. (Group B got theirs on Friday in Mrs. Smith’s room).
PTO brought Cosi on Wheels to Amelia! This is a great hands-on science experience for your child. Group A children will have COSI on Wheels on Wednesday, Oct. 31st and Group B students will have COSI on wheels on Tuesday, October 30th.
